Peter Giulio Mainetti (b. 2001) is a composer originally from Long Island, New York. Characterized by rhythmic drive, colorful orchestrations, rich textures, and a desire to push the boundaries of performers and instruments, Peter’s music blends tonal traditions while drawing musical influences from 20th-century classical music, jazz, heavy metal, video game soundtracks, and various world musics. He enjoys writing for a wide range of instrumentation and has been commissioned to write for many student and professional ensembles, including Harold Rosenbaum and the New York Virtuoso Singers, the Talea Ensemble, and the OTR Quartet, among others.

Peter’s main objective is to write music that both brings him joy and may be equally enjoyed by those who listen to and perform his music. He is currently studying music composition at the University of Cincinnati’s College-Conservatory of Music with world-renowned composer Douglas Knehans.
